Niceguy, absolutely nothing I said contradicts the problems Intel has had recently. The P6 core was a great core. It performed admirably for a long, long time. Unfortunately [for Intel], the P6 was forced to remain in active service too long. That this was the case can only be considered a severe miscalculation on Intel's part.

It does not, however, change or belittle their previous accomplishments. Let me quote myself:

You may well argue that AMD's current strength will make the transition from to actual performance fraught with peril. I would tend to agree with you, albeit for somewhat other reasons, but in the end only time will tell.

Regardless that you may feel my comments to be "wholly laughable", I stand by them.
