Did Bush start the cheating in Florida? NO - Gore is far more evil.

I must admit that even as religious fervor, I don't quite understand their approach. If the opposition were to say ...

"Bush is Evil incarnate! He is stealing the election. He is morally bankrupt! dragging the country into the gutter."

I doubt they would believe that all those on the fence will suddenly feel the need to support Gore.It is not going to convince any non-believers to join the ranks of the Gore believers. But do they fail to recognize the opposite? I have a hard time seeing this even as a decent approach to converting those needing politics as a form of religion.

I must admit that I never understood pro-wrestling or how one could get so excited about such staged emotion. But maybe the election is triggering the same sort of activity: Allowing partisans to suspend any rational behavior they show in the real world - and actually start to believe that the battle over the 1 vote in 6000 is really a war over good and evil - black and white.
