Actually, I am counting on Greenspan, who appears to be discretely in the Gore camp:Message 14879549 I would suggest that neither party has covered themselves with glory in Florida over the last several weeks. I would also suggest, and you may differ on this point, that Bill Daley's rhetoric on election night was the opening shot in what has become a WWF death match. I went to bed that night after hearing that Gore was dispatching an army of lawyers to Florida first thing in the morning. A chill went down my spine. The Bush people appear to have badly underestimated Daley and were slow to respond. The put their trust in "the process." Very quaint and naive. That attitude has now changed and they have become more aggressive. Good. Some of the protests may seem artificial, but that is an art form perfected by Jesse Jackson. I have lived in Chicago all of my 51 years and I have seen how the Daley family conducts their political affairs. I witnessed the 1968 "riots" first hand. They take no prisoners and they have a very vital interest in the status quo, particularly as it relates to Chicago. I take Bush at his word that he really is a moderate conservative and I also believe that he is better positioned than Gore to work with the opposition. I also think that Bush can get more done domestically at this point. I am also concerned that if Bush is not elected, the Republican Party swings further right, and that is not good either for the party or the country. BTW, I didn't know that Clinton had a compass. <ggg>
