flapjack, they were not afraid. They knew the vote would not be accurate. We will never know but I would bet the manual count that has been performed is even less accurate and more partisan than the prior machine count. People, especially partisan people, simply cannot divine what someone intended to do and make the vote for them. And, I am very angry with Gore for his continued attempt to disenfranchise and steal the vote of our service men and women around the world. To me that is a reprehensible act and one that should be condemned by all patriotic Americans. These people, with Gores efforts, are being denied having their votes count even once while they are out there protecting his fat ass.

You fail to address my point. Gore, knowing Americans feel counting all counties this way offers the only semblance of fairness other than stopping with the machine recounts, DID NOT request all applicable counties be counted equitably. Had he meant to truly acknowledge and accept that counting all counties is fair, he'd have asked all the counties to count. It's really moot who's scared, but I ask you, why do you suppose he didn't take the high road I propose he should have? There really is, so far as I can see, no escaping this simple fact. I say again, it is NOT likely the Supreme Court will affirm a system that is appearing to allow for such a skewed count as Gore has sought.

Gore twice proposed, and the Bush team twice rejected, a recount of every county in Florida. That would have been the fairest procedure, but the Republicans were afraid at what the outcome would have been.

Gore had everything to gain in any recount... Bush on the other hand opposed recounts, and stuck to the letter mandated by the Florida law, which as you've witnessed is being ignored by the Gore camp in their search for more votes.

Agreeing to any compromise proposed would have been tantamount to departing Bush previous position and you would be crowing a different tune... i.e., "your candidate agreed...", "your candidate can't make up his mind", etc.

The fact that Bush has remained steadfast and did not resort to vote production on the pretense of the "will of the people" line is to be commended. Gore on the other hand would have been more accurate if he said, "the will of the Democrats and mine", don't you think?

Yeah, who cares if it is a violation of Florida law? Gorons are really pathetic and you are one of the most die-hard as your continually post lame-brain info that everybody knows is patently false. The will of the people is that the law be followed. gore is too damn stupid to realize that. knc
