Zeuspaul - I think it is part of the state code. That same question was asked on one of the TV shows, and that was the answer provided.

From the haggard looking face of that guy I saw on TV, I'd think he'd be only too pleased to delegate it, if the law permitted.

re: Perhaps the county officials should consider the consequences of the ballot system they have implemented.

I'm sure they will be considering that before the next elections. I'm sure others will too.
The question is, what stock is going to benefit from it?

... Mezz -

Here are some new items to be included in future elections.

* Electron Microscopes: to eliminate bug eye syndrome.

* Sandwiched ballots: Contrasting colors on the outside and inside. This helps to see almost chads.

* Ballistic actuated Vote-a-matics: This will make voting a blast.

* Veg-a-matics will be available to clear any misfired punches or chads. They may also be used on anyone who says the word chad out loud.

* Butterfly nets: These will be in place before the primaries. This should prevent any silly goofs from getting a ballot that is only understood by voters 12 months old.

* Two additional banana clips for the Ballistic actuated Vote-a-matics will be provide to voters who are issued butterfly ballots.

* Recounts will occur once only. The results will be thrown out and the winner will be determined by the candidate who comes closest to guessing the weight of the chads swept up off the floor.

* The Fl. SC will be visiting the space station for the months of Nov. & Dec. each presidential election year. Also this is when the radios on the space station will be down for service.

* Paddles will be available for electioneers: They can wallop any voter who can't vote correctly on the third try.

* Anyone on the ballot will have to sign a document guaranteeing the right to vote to the military and guaranteeing those votes will be counted.

* Education programs will be in place to teach the difference between what mobs and demonstrators are.

* The media will not project. Twwwwwwwwwwwwwwwt!!

* The polls in all states and jurisdictions will open at 9:30 E.T. and close 24 hours later.

* The Media will be allowed to report whatever pig pucky they care to after the polls close.

* All electoral votes will be required to vote as the candidates in every state earned the electoral vote. Machine will replace people in the electoral collage.

* The word Chad shall replace the "F" word: If you don't like it...we don't give a chad!
