Charley, you're being coy--I am sure with a little research you could identify the big oil, insurance and pharma companies. I hope you don't think that those companies always have our best interests at heart, do you? Nor should they: they are for-profit enterprises. On the other side of the coin, big labor, trial lawyers and environmental lobbies may want things most unbiased people wouldn't. Unfortunately, our campaign finance system gives big check writers undue influence, and even the brainiest of eastern eggheads can suggest no good solution to this.
