amazing how much the Democrats depend on votes from people who:
- cannot read
- never voted before
- cannot follow instructions
- have no hand strength
- believe lies on regular basis
- turn their heads to voter fraud
- value millions of idle envmtly protected acres over jobs
- vote Democratic from union pressure or else they lose their jobs
- want to tax the successive and hardworking, when they are neither
- live in academic ivory towers and rarely touch the stuff of society
- cannot point to a single national party leader
- hold "personal will" to higher level than "rule of law" (see Latin America)
- value public demonstrations only when they benefit Gore
- dont speak english
- are within months of dying, citing the dimensia platform
- are already dead

nothing personal, INTCman, really
but the above coalition is pathetic in my mind
I am emotional when I see criminal behavior sanctioned by political leaders
I rise to shout and scream when the rule of law is circumvented under the guise of "will of people"

if you look closely, most Banana Republics, fascist regimes, and other totalitarian states operate under the guise of "will of the people" and then supress rights
THIS IS THE GREATEST IRONY OF THE GORE FIGHT

you gotta let go of the butterfly, a weak premise
that was the initial leverage to open PalmBch to recount
you never hear about it anymore
probably because it was a planned orchestrated event

the rhetoric is caustic for simple reasons:

the tactics used by Democrats are shameful, divisive, insincere, demogogic, two-faced, and perhaps criminal

the whole country, if not the world, was given the opportunity to see how Chicago operates its Decmocratic Party machine... the light does not shine on those Windy City Cochroaches... the light does shine in THE SUNSHINE STATE

look closely in Broward County, and you will find dead people voting
I gauantee it

YOU SEEM TO FORGET THAT 10,000 PANHANDLE RESIDENTS DIDNT VOTE
THEY THOUGHT GORE WON FLORIDA
NOT THE DEMOCRATS FAULT, RATHER THE MEDIA

YOU SEEM TO FORGET THE DEMOCRATS BLOCKED MILITARY VOTERS

"If you look at the tone of the people representing both candidates, the republicans are the angry ones here -- they need to back off at this point to help the healing process that will begin after this is all over and their man is in."

With all due respect, bland has sporadically followed the discussions on a wide number of boards here and on Yahoo. There is anger on both sides, plenty of it. The anger of the republicans is not any greater, any more overwrought, any more intolerant than that of the democrats.

If, however, you are referring simply to this board alone, bland would say what he sees here is relatively mild and civil compared to much of what he sees elsewhere, which is a major reason he has been posting here more frequently of late.

You cannot expect people not to be passionate about this. For the most part, it's a positive for all of us that they are. What is extraordinary in all this is that the process of resolution has been stretched to its limits, and everyone concerned FEELS that. It's been like watching the Superbowl surreally drag out into three weeks of overtime. Once the game is over, no matter what the outcome, the unnatural fever pitch will subside and relief will set in. Everyone will relax a little and then quickly resume their normal everyday concerns.

Count on it.
