mike, haven't you ever had the sudden thot pop up, 'gee, i'm glad i'm not sick', only to find a couple of hours later you ache all over and are coming down with the flu? and the thing is when the seemingly random thot comes you really are feeling great. happens to me regularly. it is no stretch to realize that the body actually does know things the brain hasn't quite caught onto yet. and i believe what the body is capable of knowing is more than just the subliminal advent of physical signs and symptoms; the interplay is quite complex between intellect and physical being. the difficult part is in recognizing these little epiphanies and then having an awareness of what they signal. i am not really startled by greenspan's stomach at all. we think we are just our brains, but we are far more than that; it's a rather primitive thing. but we are rather primitive things, too. don

Yeah we still don't fully understand how the body and mind interact together. I'd guess that the subconcious can tell the body something before the big brain thinks about it. Thus the body puts out a warning first. The main point I was trying to get at is that the Federal Reserve decisions aren't a result of exact sign. A lot of guess work goes into them. People don't realize this and think that the Federal Reserve is a container of such intelligence that it can prevent anything bad from happening. People have too much faith in the infallibilty of the men who serve on it.
