Notre Dame has not won a national championship since they added on to their bleachers. In doing so they obscured the view of the statue of Touchdown Jesus. Generations of ND players had been able to look up late in the 4th quarter and be given inspiration by Touchdown Jesus.

I'm afraid they are doomed to be also rans until they put the bleachers back to how they were and restore the view of Touchdown Jesus.
