I think this sums your point nicely.

Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it:
The Fall Of A Republic
When the thirteen colonies were still a part of England, Professor Alexander
Tyler wrote about the fall of the Athenian republic over two thousand years
previous to that time:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only
exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the
public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the
candidates promising the most money from the public treasury,
with the result
that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a
dictatorship.

The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred
years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence: from
bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from
courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness,
from selfishness to complacency from complacency to apathy, from apathy to
dependency, from dependency back to bondage.

Alexander Tyler

dvdw, I went back and read your numerical analysis. I clearly don't see an exponential increase in any third party. The money is in the two parties and so goes the media and so goes the public interest or apathy. What I do think will happen is that Sore and Loserman will continue with more half truth to outright lie motor mouthing and the American people a good number now apathetic are more and more going to understand what follows when you don't stand up and say. "Clinton you pile of Pig Vomit, go hide under a rock. You lied, you cheated, you raped a woman and the morality of America." Sore and Loserman are the scum, the bathtup ring left after the dirty wash water is allowed to flow and seek it's level in the sewer. Sore and Loserman are by being such visable scum going to eliminate a lot of apathy. That's how I see the invisible forces shaping the future.

NOthing more, nothing less
