>> NOKIA TO DELIVER GPRS TO COSMOTE

Total Telecom
22 November 2000

Greek mobile operator CosmOTE, 70%-owned subsidiary of state telecoms monopoly OTE, has chosen Finnish giant Nokia to supply a GPRS solution scheduled to begin commercial service during the first quarter of 2001.

Nokia says the deal will make CosmOTE the first mobile operator in Greece with a complete commercially capable GPRS network.

Nokia claims to have the largest installed GPRS base of any supplier and says it has delivered "well over 50" GPRS core networks to operators in Europe, the U.S., Asia and China since August 1999. <<
