and a lot of us thought we could do no wrong

I guess I never fully appreciated the peace that comes with understanding how wrong I've been so many times. It's never a surprise for me to be wrong because I expect it to happen, as in Citrix.

However, our portfolios are going to go down significantly at times even when we are not "wrong," so long as we believe as I do that being fully invested is the "right" thing to do. When I'm fully invested and the market tanks over the short term, my portfolio goes down. That downturn happens, though, because I've been "right" (in my opinion) about my strategy to defer taxes and invest for the long haul by holding through market corrections.

If being depressed is a genuine reaction to a market correction, I want to be very clear that I'll do everything possible to foster open communication in the thread about that. I'm very sympathetic for those with that need.
