Hi Mike:

Regarding ECIL's claims I don't know the particulars,
but academic researchers interacting with companies
are often confronted with situations where a
company contributing to a project lays claims to all
other IP arising from other projects from the same
researcher. The most extremist is Intel which often
takes the position it would have the right to the IP
of an entire Department if it supports one of its
researchers.
