robert, That would be nice, but Gore is essentially a grown up brat and just won't take no for an answer. I do agree that it has to be increasingly difficult to get people to hear his whines. tp

As a lawyer, I have to say, that what Gore is trying to do with these challenges has at best a 1 in 50 shot...at best. I think the market also realizes this and will pretty much ignore what Gore does up and until such time some rogue judge makes a decision which might turn the election.

To put it into perspective, even if Gore gets all the votes in that the Secretary of State did not allow in due to them being incomplete, even after this Bush still will have about a 250 vote lead. What Gore has to do is get a court to order Dade County to re-count its vote (against the discretionary decision of the county and against a prior ruling of the Florida Supreme Court) and not only this, but get the county to count dimpled and pregnat ballots in the most liberal manner possible (instead of just using their more conservative and discretionary approach).

Given that Florida has had a none dimple counting policy for at least the last 10 years, and given that these counties have a large measure of discretion, and also given that what Gore wants to do is change the rules and procedures of the count mid-way into the counting process, blatantly calculated to get votes where the traditional process would not return enough votes, Gore basically has an enormous task to overturn this vote.

I'm looking forward to a nice week in the market; be nice to get AVNX back up to around $100.
