Considering that the cry by the Korean SPs is to the tune that CDMA will need govt subsidy to overcome its lack of profitability compared to wCDMA, perhaps Ericson is looking to sop up some govt funds as well as install a CDMA system. Given that ERICY competes with the Korean mfctrs (correct me if necessary), I wonder how this will be received by them?

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone on this or the Buy Range board in the six or nine months after the infra sale closed willing to vouch that ERICY was technically neutral, as its public statements consistently tilted to the traditional European formulary to maintain the status quo as long as possible.

I didn't mean to say that they didn't internally prefer to sell GSM or WCDMA, just that they'll sell anything and are ostensibly neutral. I am aware and agree with you that internally they have a strong preference toward GSM and WCDMA. That's much of the reason that I think you jumped the gun when you argued that their support for the Hanaro deal in Korea showed that they're changing they're mind. What I believe is that they are opportunists who see the Hanaro deal as a way to win another infrastructure contract, plain and simple. I could be convinced that ERICY has changed their stripes, but it will take much more than this.
