No doubt any partisan Gore supporter would also say that if the election were held today, Bush wouldn't get 35% of the vote. Everyone has become more polarized, but I doubt a significant number would actually switch sides.

But it will be interesting to see the mid-term elections in two years. I suspect that the senators coming up for election are going to be wondering what all this will do to their chances.
