It's about time George got to say something positive and presidential - off the ranch and onto the White House. Bravo.

Bush stressed unity, common good
without saying it, he claimed he won
he urged Gore not to contest for good of country
he didnt smile and show much emotion

his objective was to look presidential, show an air of victory, but reach out to Democrats without pissing them off

he cited education, social security, medicaire, military
this is the basis of his Inauguration Speech content

it was important in my mind for Bush to be brief,
not to get personal one iota,
no recriminations,
and to take the next step on transition responsibly

a little bland, but necessarily so
I would use the word "guarded" or "restrained"
I am sure he wanted to scream and beam ear to ear

could you have made that speech without busting out?
I would have nodded, smirked, and winked throughout
