No conflict of interest there" As usual you are totally confused. It was the Democratic Supreme Court that set the deadline at 5PM, not the SOS. Furthermore Florida law does not allow for partial recounts. You either do the whole enchilada of non at all. The Democrats just blew it by not finishing on time as set by their own team on the SC. In addition, it wouldn't have made any difference anyway, Bush still would have won. Just like the first time and the second time and the third time. Get over it Scumbria, Gore lost. Even with the handcount in just Democratic districts. Even with dimpled chads. Even with the Florida SC rewriting election law. Even with Democratic stacked election officials changing the rules in mid stream to favor their guy. Even with the Democratic election officials having the last say on what a dimpled chad meant. Even with the 5 page Democratic directive showing the canvas boards how to reject Military votes. Even with the 20,000+ ballots rejected in the heavily Republican Northern Florida districts. Even with the networks declaring Gore the Winner in Florida thus sending thousands of Republican leaning voters in Western Florida home without voting. Everything possible to stack the deck and Gore still lost. Get over it. EP
