And what if someone disputes that recount and sues to have another one performed according to a specific standard? And then what if the OTHER opponent dispute THAT recount and demands that another be performed to a different standard? There has to be an interest in finality here. If the system is not able to properly handle close vote counts, then the election supervisory board must resolve this issue for future elections. But there simply HAS TO BE AN END TO THIS MADNESS.... And again, believe it or not, were GWB in Gore's current place, disappointed as I would be, I would ask that he concede. What Gore seems to be ignoring is that any further contest -there has NEVER been a legal contest to any presidential election-, only will result in more hostility towards him. Yeah.. the election was close. And if the people in Palm Beach was unable to properly fill out their voting ballot, that's too bad. It's too bad, especially in light of the fact they were apparently able to punch out the majority of their "chads" for other candidates in this election. It's too bad they didn't review their ballots, knock off the loose chads as the instructions stated, or ask for a new ballot when they made a mistake. And it's too bad that Theresa LaPore and her fellow canvassing board leaders were unwilling to spend the extra money. But one thing that has been left out here is the fact that many polls were closed while long lines of voters remained outside waiting to get in. What about THEIR votes? Nobody seems to care about them....
