The first 13 wells of a 20 shallow well obligation have been drilled with a 100% success rate. Nine of the 13 wells are now on line, producing at a gross rate of 19.2 MMcf gas per day (7.1 MMcf gas per day net to Edge). Three wells have been completed and are waiting on pipeline hook-up. The final well for this year's O'Connor Ranch program has reached total depth, logged oil pay and is preparing to complete. Drilling will commence again in February of next year after assessing the performance of the new wells and completing the evaluation of our reprocessed 3-D seismic. Edge expects, at a minimum, to be able to fulfill its 20 well drilling obligation. During the meantime, Edge plans to use this rig to drill three or four other shallow prospects in this general area before yearend. John W. Elias, Chairman, President and CEO, said, ``We are very pleased with the drilling results on the O'Connor Ranch to date. The new production from the nine wells on stream thus far has helped move our September 30, 2000, production exit rate of 16.1 MMcfe per day to over 21 MMcfe per day currently. We expect all 13 wells to be on line by yearend. With no more hedges on our gas production we are positioned to benefit from both the increased production and strong gas prices.'' Edge is a 50-50 co-owner with Texaco Exploration & Production, Inc. pursuit to a Joint Operating Agreement on the O'Connor Ranch. Edge's net interest is 37.50%. Edge Petroleum is a Houston-based independent energy company that emphasizes the integrated application of advanced 3-D seismic data integration and visualization techniques to improve its ability to effectively explore for natural gas and oil along the onshore Gulf Coast of the United States.
