chris, you are right. there is no surplus as we speak. it is an accounting gimmick both shucksters have latched onto. however, we are close and need to cut spending to get there. i am with you, the revs probably won't show up as they have over the past few years.

that is what irritated me when gore said he would bring the debt to $0 in 12 years (just close enough to feel real, just far enough away so that he won't take responsibility when it doesn't happen - what a manipulative sob).

a big tax cut is about the worst economic thing that could happen now. higher inflation, higher interest rates...
