FYI, I believe Chambers will appear on CNBC today at either noon or 12:20 PM (I was 20 feet from the TV when they flashed the time<g>).

"I'm not sure what you mean when you suggest that CSCO doesn't have a competitive product."

I'll be specific - I have heard from a number of reliable sources, that the Juniper M-40 clearly outperforms Cisco's GSR. Thats in terms of packet processing - the M-40 is line rate, the GSR chokes on small packets. Then they had OC-192c cards for the M-160 nearly a year ahead of Cisco, who is not quite there yet.

I should say something nice about Cisco, since this is a Cisco thread, after all. Other users tell me that the 7500 was, in its performance class, the best router ever built. They just wish the GSR had been as good. And the complaints I hear come mainly from service providers who hate IOS. Enterprise guys I talk to are very satisfied with both Cisco and IOS. And right now I'm sure Chambers is thinking, thank God for those enterprise customers.
