Neither Bush nor Gore will pay down our debt. It is true that there is no suprlus, which is why I find the 10 year projections so amusing. Bush would cut taxes and increase military spending. Gore would add new programs. You can't have it both ways. Either way, we are screwed. Why can't people get it through their heads that paying down the debt could significanltly reduce their future tax burden?? Interest on our debt is the third largest expense in the budget behind military and health care... and this is with historically low interest rates.
