Nichols - you must be kidding. Do you understand why President Bush objected to the re-re-hand-re-counts? Because they were too subjective. You do understand this, right? Didn't you see any of the footage of the democratic canvassing boards holding the ballots up to the light and trying to decide whether or not the voter intended to vote for one candidate vs. the other? Give it up, man.

Jeez Nich..you really are out of it..lets get to these hand counts first..patently unfair..but democrat-controlled boards with different standards including the infamous dimpled chad..which no else uses..ok..the rest of the state being as disenfranchised as Al Sore loser claims his dem cronies in Dade were..gimme a break..confusion of the butterfly ballot...no confusion...these clueless seniors were told by their condo commandos which number to punch BEFORE they went into the booth...that number happened to be #2..it had nothing to do with the booth...when you're too dumb to vote on your own, you pay the price of some else's dumbness....I can assure you the repubs would have done all the same things you say if the roles are reversed, thus PROVING all of this is indeed political and has nothing to do with the will of the people ...give me a fricken break

"FL, being insanely close, has a law that permits hand counts. By law, Gore requested those counts in select counties"

They MUST be done within ONE WEEK. You still with me?

"The real question is, was the Will of the people (in FL) validated?"

Yes it was. At least as well as with the other 49 states.

"What would have happened if the SOS was a Democrat?"

The dems MAY have been successful in stealing the election because this person (if he/she was like the other dems in FL) may have BROKEN the law and given Gore unlimited time (the law says one week) to mine votes.

<This delays the hand count tremendously; so much so that in the end, Dade gave up its hand recount, since it didn't have time to finish within the FL Supreme Court deadline.>
************
It would help if you had followed the events and had your facts right. There was nothing to stop Dade from counting, other counties continued to count. Rants without facts are just rants.

Were it not for the subjective counting of, or should I say casting of fantasy ballots the spread against Gore would have been much larger.
