$31M services contract with Korean company
27 November 2000 10:28 AM CDT

Korea Life Insurance (KLI), one of IBM’s largest customers for
more than three decades, recently selected Compaq Global
Services to be the prime vendor of its IT infrastructure for the
21st Century.

This key win is valued at $31 million ($24 million in services, $7
million in hardware) over the next 32 months. During the past
year and a half, Compaq aggressively competed against IBM
account teams for this opportunity.

In addition to Compaq Global Services, KLI purchased four, 16
AlphaServer GS320 systems, one AlphaServer ES40 systems
and 18 ProLiant 8500 servers with 8TB disks.<
