If AMD has told RS that they are experiencing manufacturing problems with the Palomino, that would definitely be material information and a violation of full disclosure.

<Robertson Stephens says that AMD is experiencing manufacturing problems with their next-gen chip and will not be shipping in the current quarter as expected;>

This has been public at least since Nov 7th.

<.. expect price cuts from AMD to be moved forward from January to now to make up market share; also expect Intel (INTC) to announce price cuts soon with the current weak demand enviroment. >

I guess both of these are valid concerns given the Palomino slip but I fail to how this would be news-worthy unless the stress is on "demand environment".

edit: I didn't realize the sensitivity of "manufacturing problems" when I first wrote the response. If RS is really aware of any manufacturing problems, which I think is a 0.001 probability thing, this could be significant.
