During the campaign, Elinor Caplan, the Immigration Minister, said Mr. Day and the Alliance were supported by Holocaust deniers. Last night, David Bronfman, an influential Jewish voter, endorsed Robert Goldin, the Alliance candidate running against Ms. Caplan, saying the Alliance deserves the Jewish vote.

The above is also from today's post. The Alliance is favoured both by Jews and Muslims. They must be doing something right.

Hi Stephen,

The Alliance member, whoops candidate, (a little too exuberant) is Paul Calandra, and the next riding over is Kaizer Suleman.

Don't sound like white sheet guys to me :0)

Kastel

I Wouldn't Call The ISCC Racist Necessarily.

However , as happens so often when groups of whatever interest become involved in the political selection process, they tend to undermine the free thinking nature of the individual and go through great lengths to encourage , nay , IMPLORE AND THREATEN , the members into voting as a unified group with a common voice.

As we can see from the American experience , this has caused division along ethnic and racial lines , where it has gone so far now as to have COMPLETE PROFILING of interest groups and who votes for what candidate.

But to address the issues from an INDIVIDUAL'S PERSPECTIVE :

i) Employment issues for new immigrants.

Welcome to Canada...take a number. You should have known before you left the unemployment level is still too high in this country at a REAL rate of about 10 - 12 percent. There are many professionals currently working beneath their training in this country due to lack of experience. But,how do you think those squeegee kids feel about their station in life? How about all the white folks I see on the sidewalks of life panhandling and begging for money? And the TAXI and many other companies won't hire those kids or beggars because they are not of the " right " background!

(ii) Racial and religious discrimination against visible minorities

Huge statement there Mr.Soharwardy.So Canadian employers are RACISTS NOW?I think the most racist employers in Canada are of Immigrant origin actually. Not only that , have you walked into any Government Public service lately? VERY VERY coulourful indeed. But again...welcome to Canada...don't let the door hit you too hard in the *ss when you leave.

(iii) The Palestinian issue :

The Palestinian issue is for Palestine and Israel to solve. Come to Canada...leave your politics at the door. There are two sides to every issue, we prefer you address and solve them peacefully through negotiation like most civilized countries do.

(iv) Other regions of the world where Muslim civilians are suffering

Ditto.

A primary objective of the ISCC is to represent Islam in its true form

I would recommend the ISCC stick to it's primary objective in Canada. It appears they will back whoever says the " right " thing to them to further their quest to gain support for their cause, whatever that may be at any given time.

Come to Canada...be Canadian Mr.Soharwardy. And that goes for you too Mr. Day. If you want pander to every interest group that has a gripe…real or otherwise…to attain support … you will never successfully represent the interests of the majority of the electorate. Would you propose we send troops to each and every part of the world where there are racial or ethnic conflicts? Take sides in every dispute?Stick our noses into every region of the world like the American’s do? No thank you Mr. Day, and I believe the electorate will speak tonight telling YOU the same thing.I would have strongly considered voting Alliance if it were not for YOU….. A$$HOLE!

PS: Stephen......this is NOT to u really, but please consider what I'm trying say here, ok?

Regards,

KC
