When you take the 45% federal withholding

45% federal withholding? What line of work are you in that you are being taxed at that rate? Anecdotally, I don't know anyone that is receiving less than half their gross pay due solely to taxes. 401k, equity plan, and IRA contributions don't count. But let's do the numbers:

According to the 2000 Federal tax rates, an individual earning $132,600 would pay $35,787. That's actually less than 27%. And that's not counting any deductions. Probably 95% of the country is paying that much or less.

I just want to know, where are you getting 45%? Does the federal government withold twice as much as it's supposed to?

Seems to me AG excessive war on the stockmarket results in decreased investment in R&D, resulting in decreased productivity or decreased productivity growth, resulting in lower output per unit input and thus higher prices--exactly what he's trying to avoid. That last 50 points was a mistake. Fed slow to act, slow to stop acting.
