Absolutely no guarantee, in my mind, that an in-house operation would necessarily achieve a higher level of success...Also, seems to me that AMD has pretty much sold out production over the last several quarters and, last i heard, were on target to meet the Q4 goal of 8 to 9 million microprocessors...Despite some formidable hurdles along the way, AMD has performed astonishingly well...By partnering, a healthy competitive environment is established amongst partners which hopefully ensures quality product/pricing...
