You're showing your lack of understanding for the law of Florida by giving Al Gore the power to make the offer to conduct full hand recounts in all counties.

He was making a false offer (surprise, surprise) given the fact that Florida law would not permit that to happen past 72 hours after the initial machine recount.

Mr. Gore's offer was, like most of his offers, lacking good faith.

lawdog, you have said that about 2 dozen times, at least 6 of them to me. How could Gore get a statewide FLA recount? it is against the laws of FLA. Heck, what does that matter? Gore has no understanding of right and wrong...tp

You can bet the Fla. Legislature never intended candidates should compete for territorial advantages. No state ever intended this. The US constitution never intended this. Any vote counting system that allows one candidate to achieve a counting advantage should NOT be desired by any of us(certainly not Gore), thank-you.

I would still like my question to you to be answered as I have answered yours. How, in your sage opinion, would you go about getting a fair and accurate count of the votes in Florida in the situation that we are in at the present time, under the applicable Federal and State laws?

<< Gore offered a compromise where all counties would be hand counted, but Bush refused.>>
BS
Another of al gores attempts to appear Presidential. He had no legal right to make such an offer but his spinmeisters
knew it would sound good to the uninformed electorate.
As in "Wasn't Mr Gore just the nicest man to offer Mr. Bush a total recount, but he refused."<?I>
