Re: INTC is a lean, mean fighting machine

Mean maybe, but not very reliable lately. I stopped by the Woodridge Il Best Buy a half hour ago and asked about the P4. They were selling (not selling?) the HP P4s. I was told that they had all been recalled because they weren't stable enough. I could order one through their build to order program, but they didn't know when I'd get it.

Sounds just like the 1.13GHZ P3s, doesn't it?

If you don't believe me (and I was a little skeptical of some of the similar messages I saw posted) go check it out for yourself.

I'm not sure I believe that story about it only being a bios issue any more. The BIOS of a PC can be reflashed from a floppy disk in about 5 minutes. If that were all there were to the problem, it should have been fixed days ago.

There are similar stories about Gateway and Compaq P4 machines locking up that have been posted. It's starting to look pretty bad for the P4. You only get to make one first impression.
