Real quickly:

The main legal argument for Bush's case before the USSC is that rules were changed after the election. The rules were that up to 4 counties could be hand recounted if requested within 72 hours AND completed within one week. The FLSC changed the second rule AFTER the election.

Get it?

Predicition: The U.S. Supreme Court will overturn the FL S.C. because THEY CHANGED THE RULES after the election.

You would have to have an inordinate amount of time on your hands to outline all of Gore's cases in court right now. I'll pass on that half of the question other than to say he is a weasel that will never stop in his quest of the presidency.

Thank you Srexely. That was all I was lookin for. I never asked for an all encompassing view of Gore's legal battles in Florida. Just very simply, can his position be supported with respect to existing Florida law? And if so, how?

I believe (from what I have read) as Srexely does, that it cannot, and as such, it it will be overturned.

All I was asking from you (lawdog) is to know where you stand on this issue. IYO, can Gore's position be substantiated under existing Florida law (with respect to the recounts)?

If it cannot, do you not think it is likely that existing laws will get upheld? If not, why not?

If so, does Gore's chances rest on trying to get as many Bush ballots discounted as possible?
