HT, I do not claim to be a scholar on the subject, but can see no reason that an "individual" Christian would not have the option of fighting to overthrow a government if there was sufficient reason that it be overthrown. I see no Christian principle that would be broken by doing so. Most of the
Redcoats were Christians, and most of the colonists were Christians, so it was a matter of politics, and not theology.

As an army organized by some Christian faction for the sole purpose of starting a war of any kind, I am not so sure what would be correct. Christians, as an organized group, already have a war to fight every day of the their lives against satan, and his minions. I do believe that our hands are quite full with such a huge undertaking.

I did not know your Christian affiliation, and could not determine the reason for you bringing this up in your earlier post. I apologize for mistaking your beliefs, and your purpose.

HiTech, I don't find anywhere in scripture that supports the proposition that Christians should stand idly by while their fellow countrymen engage the enemy. I feel strongly that Christians are the salt of any nation and if they refuse to stand up against tyranny then then deserve to suffer the consequences along with everyone else.

There are some cults like the JW's who contend they don't need to defend their nation but yet they will suck off the blessings which liberty bestows.

The point where Christians are obligated to resist the ruling powers is not always a fine line but it is there.
