>>what is your reaction to that article.<<

Corvis is an additional enigma wrapped in the normal shroud of secrecy we see with all companies in this space. Huber set up Corvis with this secrecy as part of his business plan and it worked well until this market turned into its "show me the customers and revenue" mode. And quite frankly, while I have been following Corvis closely for a while, I still don't know enough about it to make a frank assessment of that article.

>>It sounds as though Corvis may not be an effective competitor to either Ciena or Nortel.<<

Perhaps if one takes the information in the article at face value, but I am not prepared to agree with that until I have other more concrete evidence. (I can dream, right?...<g>)

>>It certainly casts doubt on their claim to have a competitive long haul product to Qtera.<<

Agreed, but who knows what the agenda is of the person who gave the writer that info....

PS This part of the article was amusing...

>>Financial analysts don’t seem too worried about the lack of information on Corvis’s technology, saying that they’re not in a position to assess it anyhow.<<

They are not? You mean these analysts only look at the numbers and not the technology? I'm shocked. Shocked...<g>
