Investors draw a simplistic conclusion...

The only mandate given in this election has been one of "don't mess with anything". Whether it's Bush or Gore shouldn't matter much to the market at this point - it's very clear that the next President will be severely handicapped in making any significant policy changes with a divided election and a split Congress. The bitterness is only increasing and true bipartisan cooperation is going to be a longshot in the next Administration. Does it really matter who we end up with?

IMHO, the market just wants it to end.

Art, thanks for the vote of confidence. In this election I prefer the term "Parmesan" to "partisan". Those who have tasted the real thing know the difference between a true delight and something that is old and cheesy.
