Vultures, worms, ghouls, goblins, pariahs, unchristian and un-american quick-buck artists. Those are some of the descriptions on Wall Street for short sellers, people who try to make their money by betting that share prices will decline.

In this article Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown's James Wade is quoted as saying "I hate their guts," James Wade exploded. "They are vultures."

As both a client of DB and one who has been known to sell the occasional overpriced equity short, I was very offended.

While he is characterized as "a well-regarded securities analyst" I afraid I have never heard of him. Does anyone know who he is, or perhaps of greater interest, executives at DB who would be best positioned to insure that Mr. Wade understands that A) DB frequently takes short positions in equities and B) It probably is not good business to make such remarks about the firms clients?
