Re: "2) I want some of my money back"

Quite generous of you, cuz I want all of my money back! <vbg> Yeah, yeah, I know - time to wake up. But a guy has gotta have a dream, no?

But I completely agree about the chances of a tax cut. It would have been a battle even with Repubs in marginal control. Now, it stands no chance with the "I'll spend money like a Republican to win" Cantwell apparently making it 50-50.

Jeff,

I'm pretty much a libertarian so in general I'm all for tax cuts. The reason I'm against it right now is that I think we are running a very phoney surplus. (part accounting and part bubble revenues). Taxes are OUR money, but so is the HUGE DEBT. So what I'd like to see is a short term effort to pay down the debt and a long term effort at cutting spending. When our fiscal house is "really" in order (instead of scam order) then I think we should move towards privatization, lower taxes, lower spending, etc...

I think we should use this snapshot in time to pay down debt before we get the recession. Then again, what do I know?
:-)
