apparently the bids are around 1 bn. Rand...that's quite o.k. considering Anglo has sunk R700m. in capex on the two mines over the past three years. i was also thinking they might want to split this thing...one of the mines is adjacent to DROOY's Blyvooruitzigt, and the related cost savings would be a nice thing to have. unfortunately the banksters would force DROOY into hedging some of the expected output, as they did with Harties. same would not be true for HGMCY...they have their banksters better trained, since they have little debt and lots of cash.
