"What they're supposed to do" is up the the judges not partisans like you, thank God. And forget the legislature angle. That's just jackals cackling for meat. They wouldn't commit political suicide by attempting to defy a Supreme Court order. They might have to be dragged screaming to the dog house but they'd submit if the courts decide Gore is the real winner. They'd have no choice.
