Actually, you're right. I don't think what happened in Florida was fair. Bush got screwed by Gore's slick lawyers out of nearly 1400 votes. He won the state of Florida by a much wider margin then was shown in the end.

How many military overseas votes were tossed out because of technicalities. Punch card voters had rules, but when they couldn't follow them, we were supposed to weep and cry for months while we counted scratches, dimples, one corner, two corner, whatever it took to help Whopper Al. The very same canvassing board members who for a decade were not accepting dimpled and hanging one corner chads, TOTALLY CHANGED THE WAY VOTES WERE COUNTED, in order to help Whopper Al. The extremely partisan FLSC completely rewrote the law (something they were never asked to adjudicate), in order to give Whopper Al and his team more time to invent votes.

Everything Democrats asked for, Democrats got. They controlled the court, they controlled the canvassing boards, and they controlled the media spin. In the end, they failed, because they lacked the management talent necessary to accomplish the tasks they fought so hard to get. And more importantly, because providence stepped in, in order to put the greatest nation on earth back in alignment with her principles of fairness and decency.

I am proud George Bush fought (and is still fighting) these despicable lawyers to the end. Many wanted him to give up early on. But his team stayed the course, just like they stayed the course during the election when times got tough. "Character matters", and George Bush demonstrated the character necessary to be Commander in Chief, and our next President.

Al Gore has only demonstrated what a sore loser and lier he truly is. Attacking our fighting men and women voters in far off places around the world, was the most vile thing I have ever seen done by a potential Commander in Chief. He can't lead, because he has NO credibility!

None whatsoever....

Palm Beach Elections Chief Is Big
Gore Backer

Last weekend, Palm Beach's former elections
supervisor, Jackie Winchester, was all over
the airwaves.

The retired Winchester, who served some 23
years in the same position as Theresa
LePore, was presented to the public as just
an independent source to explain why so many
Gore votes were lost.

Winchester claimed that the voting machines
have been faulty for some time. (Why this
was not an issue for her when she was in
office is not clear.)

Because most people vote for the office of
president first, Winchester said that area
of the ballot becomes prone to problems, one
of which is that the hardening of plastic
doesn't allow individuals to punch through
the ballot.

Winchester's claims are still key to Gore's
claims for the presidency, because some
800-plus ballots that have dimples for Gore
were not counted in the recount.

Winchester's testimony helps Gore's campaign
make the claim to have those single-dimpled
ballots count.

The media, which has been quick to point out
Katherine Harris' affiliation to the
Republican party, haven't bothered to note
that Winchester is a lifelong Democrat.

In fact, she spent the presidential campaign
as a volunteer for Gore, working his phone
banks.

Why the media didn't mention her party
affiliation becomes more curious:
Winchester's appearances were arranged by
Gore's campaign as part of their "Count the
Dimples" effort.
