Actually I am about to lose my right to vote pretty soon. If this is not over when I wake up Sunday morning I will put my Charles Bronson jacket on and do the whole country/world a favor and take care of the mess !

Re: "Hand recounts when an election is basically tied. Very democractic and totally legal. Your side wouold be trumpeting this if they were behind by a few votes. And they might be soon."

You forget, "your" side has been trumpeting all along that Gore can't fairly have just his cherry-picked territory. This long-standing complaint by Republicans addresses the issue of a fair state-wide hand-count directly, as has been the case from the start. Yes, it has been Gore who has been behind, and it's sad he didn't seek this fairness instead of officially taking action to grub for favored territory. He could have accomplished it before the cert. of Bush if he'd just sought fairness. Gore talked after a week passed, but still fails to act. Now his appointed talking heads say to O'Reilly, for instance, "oh no, we don't want something that would take much time, we just want to count these few places.(even though we know that's not fair, as Gore himself seemed to recognize with his offer....so he's speaking with forked tongue, clearly)" Give US a break I say, and that includes you who have to try to defend this hooey.

Good luck,

Dan B
