From the Los Angeles Times' Technology Events Calendar:

Barry Libert, author, lecturer and Arthur Anderson consultant, will discuss the impact of the "new economy" on redefining value in everything we do. Libert will present excerpts [italics mine] from his latest book, "Cracking the Value Code: How Successful Businesses Are Creating Wealth in the New Economy".
Cost: $30 members $50 nonmembers [includes lunch]

I thought it amusing that people are expected to pay up to $50 for breakfast and excerpts from a book that one can pick up for $21.60 at Amazon.com. At this spring's San Diego lunch we got a good meal for a much lower price, and we got Merlin's discourse on valuation for free.

Mike, what do you know about this author? Do you think it would be worth $21.60 to get his book?
