I thought it was a poor job of faking warmth and sincerity. A leader must believe what they are saying, or they must be good actors. Reagan believed; His audience believed. This was more inmportant than what he said, in terms of attracting public confidence. When I look in Gore's eyes I don't see congruence with his words. Of course, that may be only a defect in my own point of view...but it is the only point of view I have.

OK, at your request, I watched the re-runs. I hate it when someone wanting something from me talks down to me! Gore has forever a snotty attitude and bearing.

I would have to confess that I consider him disingenuous whenever he says anything. I think he has learned well from his boss. He is just not quite as convincing when he spins.
