A couple mos back on one of the news programs, I believe it was CBS Sunday Morning, there was a segment on environmental issues, Gore/Bush. One of the topics was whether TX envir was really as bad as the Dems were portraying it. Conclusion was that it was not- So Calif had always been the worst for air qual with so TX always running second. But as So Calif's auto emissions improved and for economic reasons the amount of manufacturing in the LA area decreased, TX rose in the dubious ranking, even though they had not really gotten worse- South Calif had simply gotten much better.

Talked about the successes and failures Bush has had with using the carrot approach instead of the stick approach with bus and industry in envir compliance.

Bottom line was mixed reviews of Bush record but not nearly as bad as the Gore campaign tried to demonize him with.

Now, why do you assert that TX got worse under Bush?
