1. Gore offered to recount all of Florida and said if that was done, he would not contest the results

It was a public relations ploy. He made the offer after the 72 hour deadline. He offered something that was not his to offer.

I will bet $100 of your money that this is true.

2. Hand punched ballots were only used in a few counties in Florida. Bush knew he would not stand to gain much by recounting other chad-less counties.

Punch card counties are mostly democratic...I wonder why. If one thing comes out of this election shenanigans I hope it is ballot reform. Watch the democrats try to wiggle out of reform.

Just look at the overall US map. The areas most prone to voter fraud are the ones that went for Gore. An analysis of the precincts with 75 percent plus voter turn out would most likely prove my point. Eliminate the fraud and it is a Bush electoral landslide.

Mark,

No, I've relentlessly acknowledged Gore's offer to Bush. I've also acknowledged Gore's utter failure to request officially, where it matters, that this be done. If he thinks as I'd guess 94% of Americans do, that including all the counties is the fair way to a re-count, why didn't he be a statesman and seek that? Why?

I've also been well aware of your point 2 for some seemingly long time...however, Bush has about half the chadded vote population gore had. Bush's hasn't been counted yet.

Unless and until that's counted, nothing gore can gain from his territory amounts to a fair result. This remains true, and Gore's numbers are slipping as a result now.
