The stock market can't make EVERYONE rich. Because the method in which someone becomes rich in the market is by being a minority that takes money from the majority. When everyone is already in the game, the obvious question is "Sell to whom?" I can't agree more. One thing I have to look forward to is that I got into the market at the top. Had I been a dumb ass Clown or the bear I actually turned into, in the long run, I probably would've realized the same thing. Major economic factors and history has its place. While the Clowns may agree with me that business at companies like Cisco is booming at amazing YoY comparisons, I can conclude that Crisco is an overvalued POS with a tortured balance sheet. Had I been two years earlier into the market, I probably would've been blinded by reality like most of the Clowns out there. Given that history has shown (...IMVHO...) that market tops to market bottoms are much faster than market bottoms to market tops, I feel that I have learned a valuable lesson in how to deal with the bear. Preservation of capital should be absolutely key. If you have the stomach and time, going short is the way to go. At the next top, which probably will occur far enough into the future that people will be able to forget the market top that occured this year (assuming this is the final end of the mania), I hope to have the ability to recognize it and play it right. chic
