Dan, <<<, given that the market boosts Intel's stock price and trashes the stock price of its competitor AMD on a day that Intel products are being pulled from shelves across the county, the cost, price and performance of P4 may be irrelevant.>>>

You are a worthy opponent. You fought the good fight. Too bad Jerry Sanders is not worthy of the kind of loyalty you have exhibited. If there was only some other visionary, more worthy, that you could support - you would be terrific.

But, the hand writing is on the wall. Give it up. Intel is just too much for Jerry Sanders to go up against. Jerry Sanders is the perfect example of the me generation CEO before there was a me generation. He has enriched himself at the expense of all others. Given that kind of personality leading AMD, for them to succeed against all odds is extremely remote.

Of course, there is always hope. There is a small window, where if Intel screws up royally again and AMD executes perfectly....

That is unlikely. It is time to capitulate. A time to hang it up - graciously. But,I know that is not your style. You have too much pride.

But, you know what they say: high boastings by the proud bring sorrow to the height to punish pride .

Best regards,

Mary
