Cyberian Outpost, Inc. announced that its December and January average order
value decreased primarily due to softening demand for computers. This decrease,
coupled with fuel surcharges on shipping fees, increased fulfillment costs
significantly. Furthermore, lower advertising revenue from hardware manufacturers
negatively impacted gross margin. The Company now estimates revenues for its
fourth quarter ending February 28, 2001 to be approximately $118 and $120 million,
less than analysts estimates. The Company estimates that its fourth quarter net
loss will be between approximately ($.31) and ($.34) per share, better than last
year's fourth quarter result of ($.41) per share, but higher than Wall Street analysts'
estimates of ($.16) per share for the quarter.
