Political football, Superbowl 2000
Demos vs Reps:
1.Nov 7th: The Reps are ahead by three points with 5 seconds left. On forth down the Demos try a 40 yd field goal and miss.
Time expires, the crowds go home and celebrate.
2. After appealing to the Democratic Football League (DFL), The Demos are granted a replay of the last play of the game.
3. Nov 14 th: The crowd returns to the stadium and new rules are adopted. Demos will have 12 players, Reps will have 4. Any disputes will be resolved by a panel of 2 Demos and 1 Rep. The Demos fumble on the one foot line and
time expires. Reps win. Demos appeal to the Supreme Court
and are granted one more replay.
4. Nov 26 th: Huge crowds flow into the Stadium for the deciding game. Newscasters from around the world and 500 Demo attorneys are on-hand to witness every players movement. The Demos call a running play but step out of bounds on the one yard line. Time expires. All officials sign paperwork declaring Reps the winner.
5. Immediately after the game, Demos, who had selected their home field, positioned the field markers and yard lines, complain to the judges that the goal line was distorted, that they should have been allowed one more player, the clock was 1/2 second off, and argue that measuring each step the ball carrier took from the line of scrimmage proved that he actually did cross the goal line instead of falling short and that this final league game should have been decided by the more accurate method of measuring footprints instead of chalk lines on the field used by the 49 other teams.
See you in court !
