You know that the candidates didn't have the legal authority to agree to change the counting or re-counting rules after the game is over. This isn't the wild west. There are procedures, laws, and rules. It's been discussed here and elsewhere. If you disagree, please cite me the "controlling legal authority."

flapjack, you must be one of the least aware people on this planet. You have beaten that subject to absolute death to dozens of people on this thread for days and have gotten the same response. It was not Gore's option to give. If anything, it simply illustrates Gore's complete disregard for written law. tp

I like your persistence but not your ability to grasp things with a little complexity... or is this just a case of selective understanding?

Have you ever played anything and won, just to have your opponent say two out of three? Bush was winning and Gore was in a no-loss situation to propose an empty gesture. It fooled a lot of Democrats including you, it did not fool us Republicans...

Your touting of Gore's disingenuous offer to Bush instead of canvassing commissions, where he could have gotten things done relatively fairly in the eyes of Americans, and your panning of Bush for not accepting, is all very interesting in one specific regard. Even if you have it your way, one basic truth shines through to all who see, namely, that Gore is the only one who has repeatedly sought unfair geographical advantages....only after it came clear that this isn't kosher, did he make an offer to Bush, and even then and still now, he continues to seek unfair geographical advantage...and still pretends it would give us a full fair result.

The people aren't agreeing, and no wonder.
